A Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) councillor has commended the Section 10 Residents Association (S10RA) for helping to combat illegal dumping in their area.

Derek Fernandez said residents managed to identify the culprits thanks to closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) installed near the site on Jalan 10/4 in Section 10, Petaling Jaya.

“This should be an example to other RAs in the area.

“I will request that MBPJ install more sophisticated and advanced CCTV that can capture footage from a distance including identifying the number plates of vehicles,” said Fernandez.

S10RA president Ronald Danker said previously, there were seven roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) bins including construction waste at the area.

“Now, only one RoRo bin is left and all the debris has been cleared by MBPJ,” he said.

The area has been sealed with yellow tape.
